NavJev: Efficient Vision-Language Navigation via Action-Centric Visual Compression and Discriminative Action-Semantic Memory

NavJev: Efficient Vision-Language Navigation via Action-Centric Visual Compression and Discriminative Action-Semantic Memory

Recent zero-shot Vision-and-Language Navigation (VLN) methods increasingly rely on multimodal large language models (MLLMs) to reason over visual observations, navigation instructions, and candidate actions. Although effective, repeatedly invoking autoregressive multimodal reasoning at every navigation step introduces substantial inference latency, limiting the responsiveness of embodied agents. We propose NavJev, an efficient VLN framework that reformulates online navigation from repeated multimodal generation into compact visual compression followed by lightweight typed action selection. Specifically, Action-Centric Visual Compression (ACVC) integrates waypoint geometry, BLIP captions, and RAM semantic tags into compact representations of candidate actions, while Discriminative Action-Semantic Memory (DASM) filters shared semantics and maintains discriminative action-specific evidence across navigation steps. Based on these representations, Jev directly performs structured probabilistic decisions over the available action set. Experiments on R2R-CE show that NavJev achieves 27.0% SR and 22.4% SPL with only 0.65 s per navigation step, while substantially reducing inference latency and cost compared with MLLM-based VLN methods. OpenBelief-Nav: Evidence-Preserving Object Memory for Open-Vocabulary Language-Guided Navigation

OpenBelief-Nav: Evidence-Preserving Object Memory for Open-Vocabulary Language-Guided Navigation

Open-vocabulary 3D scene graphs provide compact semantic memory for language-guided navigation, but mapped objects are often exposed through a single fused feature or committed semantic label. Such commitment can remove minority yet task-relevant hypotheses from the task-time interface. We present OpenBelief-Nav, an evidence-preserving object memory that retains observation-level phrases, reliability cues, and frame-mask provenance while maintaining separate aggregate geometric and visual representations. Semantically related phrases are consolidated into a vocabulary-independent object belief from which task-specific readouts perform fixed-vocabulary projection or free-form retrieval. On five ScanNet200 and eight Replica scenes, full-belief projection achieves mIoU scores of 0.2742 and 0.2912, compared with 0.2393 and 0.2701 for a matched early-commit readout. Across 78 HM3D-YCB navigation trials, consensus and early-commit retrieval each achieve 60/78 successes, compared with 58/78 for belief-weighted retrieval and 55/78 for DualMap. Across 20 Unitree G1 runs organized as 10 matched evaluation cases, a correction policy permitting at most two verified candidate attempts improves target-confirmation success from 6/10 to 8/10 relative to top-1-only execution. Code will be released upon acceptance at https://openbelief-nav.github.io/.

RynnUnify: Towards Unified Embodied Brain

RynnUnify: Towards Unified Embodied Brain

We introduce RynnUnify, a 16B unified embodied model that combines strong embodied understanding with long-horizon visual planning through interleaved video–language reasoning. With capabilities spanning spatial reasoning, physical prediction, and grounding, RynnUnify connects an understanding of the physical world with visual anticipation of how it evolves across successive subtasks. Building on these capabilities, we further develop an agentic extension through reinforcement learning to selectively use video predictions for reasoning about unobserved states and interaction outcomes. We also develop a world-action extension of the full RynnUnify model, translating its understanding and prediction capabilities into robot control. To evaluate these capabilities, we introduce Rynn-VP and Rynn-GEU for long-horizon visual planning and anticipatory reasoning. Experiments show that RynnUnify achieves the highest average embodied understanding score among the evaluated unified multimodal models and improves the Rynn-VP overall score by 9.75 points over Cosmos 3 Nano. Its agentic extension improves the Rynn-GEU average by 6.0 points over direct reasoning, while the world-action extension achieves 51.5% success on 20 selected composite RoboCasa365 tasks and 46.7% average success across three real-robot tasks. Together, these results establish RynnUnify as a shared foundation for embodied understanding, visual planning, and robot control, taking a step toward a unified embodied brain.

Agentic World Action Models

Agentic World Action Models

Recent world action models provide visual foresight and future prediction for robot manipulation, but lack explicit mechanisms for compositional skill reuse. Agentic robotics combines code-based planning and reasoning with reusable skills, but often lacks predictive grounding in physical dynamics. We introduce AW-0, an agentic world action model framework that integrates code-based planning with joint video and action prediction. We jointly model code, future video, and robot actions as three coupled generative streams within a unified mixture-of-transformers architecture. Within this architecture a code expert generates parameterized skill routines and control logic while video and action experts generate future visual states and low-level motor commands. Code serves two complementary roles: it structures multi-step prediction and control within the world model and represents skills as reusable programs for subsequent agentic execution. We further introduce an automated curation pipeline that labels robot and human video trajectories with aligned programs and consolidates recurring routines into reusable skill libraries. Evaluations on RoboTwin 2.0 and physical bimanual manipulation tasks show improved task performance over VLA and WAM baselines, alongside gains in language following, semantic reasoning and robustness, demonstrating that agentic code enables connection between planning, prediction and execution within WAMs.

Thinker-WM: A Unified World Model with Shared Multimodal Representations for Embodied Intelligence

Thinker-WM: A Unified World Model with Shared Multimodal Representations for Embodied Intelligence

World models have emerged as a promising paradigm for embodied AI, yet existing systems often remain fragmented in the modalities they model and the functions they support. In particular, visual dynamics, geometric structure, and executable action are commonly coupled through separate interfaces or downstream modules rather than being jointly represented and evolved within a shared dynamics model. In this work, we present Thinker-WM, a unified multimodal world model that jointly models and generates RGB, metric depth, and robot action through a shared intermediate Unified Dynamics Transformer with modality-specific encoders and decoders. The model performs multimodal unification at the representation level: appearance, geometry, and action are transformed into a common dynamic representation and jointly evolved by shared parameters, while their distinct output structures are preserved. The same parameterization supports multiple functions, including joint video-action generation, world prediction, policy inference, action-conditioned generation, video-to-action generation, and inverse dynamics. To examine whether the shared representation captures action-related information, we introduce a lightweight motion probe that shows the frozen visual representation contains recoverable motion information. Thinker-WM is trained on a heterogeneous corpus comprising approximately 20K hours of egocentric video, 10K hours of real-robot data, and 1K hours of simulation data, including approximately 4K hours of real-robot data with aligned depth supervision. Extensive experiments demonstrate strong performance across embodied world-model evaluations. Thinker-WM ranks first on EWMBench, WorldOlympiad and WorldArena, while controlled studies further demonstrate the benefits of action conditioning, geometric interaction, and multi-function training within the shared representation.

SimpleVLN: Towards Simple and Frontier Vision-Language Navigation

SimpleVLN: Towards Simple and Frontier Vision-Language Navigation

Vision-and-Language Navigation (VLN) requires embodied agents to ground language in visual observations and make long-horizon decisions. Existing methods often address these demands through task-specific architectures. As multimodal large language models (MLLMs) become increasingly capable, an important question remains: Have we truly unlocked the potential of native MLLMs for VLN before introducing task-specific architecture? We present SimpleVLN, an architecture-preserving framework developed through studies of navigation formulation, data construction, and optimization. At the formulation level, SimpleVLN combines single-turn decision inputs with fixed-budget global-local memory to efficiently use navigation history without unbounded context growth, while action chunks enable efficient output of multiple primitive actions per model invocation. For data construction, we combine expert demonstrations with policy-dependent DAgger experience and develop a scalable synthesis pipeline that generates large-scale tasks for reinforcement learning. At the optimization level, a progressive IL-DAgger-RL pipeline advances from action imitation to task-level outcome optimization. Comprehensive experiments validate the effectiveness of these three aspects. We instantiate SimpleVLN across multiple MLLM backbones and model sizes, demonstrating its generality. SimpleVLN achieves 76.7% and 80.1% success rates on the R2R-CE and RxR-CE splits, respectively, substantially outperforming existing methods. These results show that the navigation capabilities of native MLLMs can be effectively unlocked without task-specific architectural designs.

EWAM: Emergent Depth-Wise Specialization in a Unified Embodied Model – From Semantic Understanding through Visual Foresight to Action

EWAM: Emergent Depth-Wise Specialization in a Unified Embodied Model – From Semantic Understanding through Visual Foresight to Action

Vision-language-action (VLA) policies emphasize semantic understanding, whereas world-action models (WAMs) learn predictive representations of environment dynamics. Systems that expose a policy to both sources often still concentrate action computation on a single expert. We present EWAM, an action-centric unified embodied model whose asymmetric joint attention lets action tokens read semantic, current-visual, predicted-future, and action information at every layer while the perceptual experts retain their distinct roles. Without layer-wise supervision, EWAM develops an emergent depth-wise specialization: action queries attend mainly to vision-language features in shallow layers, to predicted future frames in intermediate layers, and to action tokens themselves in deep layers. This handoff replicates across tasks and is stable across denoising steps. Checkpoint tracking and causal interventions show that it is learned and that action generation depends on it. EWAM is pretrained in two separate regimes, one on cross-embodiment robot trajectories and one on human egocentric video. In simulation and real-robot experiments, it surpasses existing VLA, WAM, and hybrid baselines. Human egocentric data improve both cross-embodiment transfer and real-robot robustness, and subtask-phase supervision improves long-horizon completion. Together, these results suggest that unified embodied learning can induce an ordered internal progression from semantic understanding, through visual foresight, to action formation.
