After42 is a multi-agent research workflow. It starts from a broad scientific direction, reads literature, proposes candidate questions, attempts solutions, and iterates before expert review. The system produced 135 research questions, 45 of which at least two experts deemed worth pursuing; in a separate math experiment, expert approval rose from 3% of initial candidates to 33% after filtering and revision.
