Piezo Sonic Mighty D4S Rough-Terrain Autonomous Inspection Robot

Overview
Mighty-D4S is a fully Japanese-made autonomous mobile robot (AMR) from Piezo Sonic, designed for noise-sensitive environments such as server rooms. Tested to the VCCI Class A EMC standard, it delivers low-noise autonomous transport and follow-along operation. Its patented link-frame chassis, derived from lunar rover technology, climbs 12cm steps and 15-degree slopes, drives through 20cm of water, and reaches about 10 km/h with a 50kg payload and 200kg towing capacity; the standard battery yields 6-8 hours of operation and hot-swapping enables 24-hour duty. Front/rear LiDAR plus four cameras give a 30m recognition radius, and five operation modes are supported: SLAM autonomous driving, person-following, marker detection, internet remote control and manual controller operation, for equipment inspection, periodic patrol and monitoring. Steering is driven by Piezo Sonic's proprietary piezoelectric ultrasonic motor, enabling lateral movement and in-place turning; sensors, body style and color can be customized from a single unit, with an optional unit for transporting 1U/2U servers. The Mighty series has won awards including the CES 2022 Innovation Award and the Good Design Award.
