Overview

San Francisco startup Lightberry opened preorders for Lumi, an interactive humanoid built on the Unitree G1 platform. It runs Lightberry OS with an open SDK and packs NVIDIA Jetson Thor compute, 34 DoF, a 421 Wh battery, dual 1920x1200 cameras and a beamforming microphone array; at ~1.3 m tall it converses, guides, looks up information, takes photos and tells stories - positioned as a people-facing interaction terminal rather than a pure motion platform. The first 100 Founder's Edition units ship in 2026 at $39,990 (with a $200 refundable deposit), with the hardware price later dropping to ~$20,000.
