Tesla Optimus Next-Gen Hand (Nov 2024)

Overview

In November 2024 Tesla officially unveiled a next-gen Optimus hand: 22 DOF per hand, tactile sensing on every finger, capable of delicately handling objects such as eggs; patents show 25 actuators and the official demo was teleoperated. The hand appeared at the Oct 2024 'We, Robot' event and factory validation, and carries into the Gen 3 production version. Note: the 'V2.5 model' named by humanoid.guide does not exist; this entry now records the official hand upgrade.
