Overview
Tesla Optimus: official planned specs 173 cm / 57 kg / 20 kg payload, planetary roller screw actuators, end-to-end neural network control sharing AI with FSD. A new 22-DOF hand with tactile sensing on every finger arrived Nov 2024. Production prep began in 2026: Fremont line starts July–August, Musk warns initial output will be slow; validated in small factory tasks such as 4680 cell handling. Long-term price target ~$20,000 (Musk), not yet officially priced.
