SMP Robotics Inspector Substation Inspection Robot
Overview
The Inspector series is SMP Robotics' (USA) wheeled autonomous inspection robot for outdoor high-voltage substations of 110 kV and above. It carries a dual-spectrum (visible + thermal IR) PTZ camera that automatically performs thermal and visual scans of HV equipment at preset points; every thermogram, photo and video is timestamped with GPS coordinates and grid-load parameters and archived on a server for AI analysis and predictive maintenance. Measurements are repeatable at the same angle, distance and height, with 24/7 operation, autonomous recharging and hundreds of points per station; optional UV (corona) camera and directional microphone (partial-discharge) are available, and the same platform supports security patrol.
