DroidUp Ruina Expressive Humanoid

Overview

Ruina is DroidUp's highly expressive humanoid with eco-silicone skin reproduced at wax-figure fidelity and adjustable semi-permanent makeup. An innovative wire-rope and hemisphere mechanism gives 50-80 degree eyelid articulation, with specially made tendons (5 mm max travel) for brows and cheeks; 4+4+8 servos drive eyes, brows and mouth for 25 DoF of facial expression, while three neck servos add 3-DoF head rotation and tracking. Paired with dexterous arms and an autonomous navigation chassis for self-directed walking, Ruina targets cultural performance, research education, exhibition guidance and public service, including a Kunqu-opera stage debut at Guangfulin Heritage Park.
