Cyan Robotics Orca I Expressive Humanoid Robot

Overview
Shanghai Cyan Robotics builds expressive, embodied-AI humanoids. Orca I is its fully anthropomorphic bipedal robot: 1510 x 520 x 280 mm standing, about 42 kg with batteries, 28 DOF (4 per leg + 2 per foot + 6 per arm + 1 waist + 3 head), knee peak torque 150 Nm, about 5 kg payload per arm and 10 kg combined, with a dexterous hand plus an adaptive soft gripper included. It walks with human-like straight-knee gaits that tolerate slopes and impacts at low energy cost, and pioneers emotional gaits that convey mood in every step, while the head-mounted emotion display, LLM and affective gestures create immersive social interaction. Compute pairs a 14-core CPU with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super; sensing supports 3D LiDAR, depth camera and IMU, audio uses a six-mic ring array plus speaker, and connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. Dual quick-swap 5000 mAh lithium batteries give 2 h standing / 1 h walking runtime; joint dual encoders, local air cooling and a 500-1000 Hz control bandwidth keep motion precise, with USB3.0/Ethernet/48V expansion. A deeply open ecosystem exposes full interfaces including whole-body teleoperation, a small Sim2Real gap, and bundled routines plus advanced locomotion training/deployment code for easy secondary development.
