DroidUp Moya Fully-Biomimetic Humanoid
Overview
Moya, the 'silicon girl' from DroidUp (Shanghai), is a fully-biomimetic humanoid. It weighs only 30 kg with 100+ body DoF, replicates human micro-expressions 1:1 (60+ natural expressions via 40 simulated facial muscles), and adds 32-36C constant-temperature silicone skin plus quasi-industrial flexible hands. A full-stack tendon-driven architecture concentrates motors at the hips and pulls the limbs through high-strength tendons for compliant, impact-free motion, while 3D-printed lattice soft materials and PEEK replace steel for intrinsic safety. The in-house DroidSoul whole-body interaction engine fuses vision, speech, touch and posture with an amygdala-like emotion model for proactive greeting, preference memory and empathy, backed by an edge engine for privacy and efficiency. Founder Prof. Li Qingdu (Cornell postdoc, ISO robot-safety committee member) led the team whose Walker No.1 set a 2015 Guinness record of 134 km on 0.8 kWh.
