The AZ Series is Oriental Motor's (Japan) αSTEP closed-loop stepper family with a built-in mechanical absolute encoder (ABZO) for battery-free absolute positioning without external sensors. Its hybrid control runs open-loop under normal load and switches to closed-loop correction on overload, combining stepper responsiveness with servo-level reliability, tuning-free and without stop-position hunting. Frames span NEMA 8 to NEMA 34 with holding torque up to 4 N·m standard and 110 N·m geared; brake, IP66 connector and geared variants are available, and matching drivers support EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and Modbus.
